We try our utmost to have your bicycle repaired and ready by the same or next working day, even if you bring your bike without an appointment.
Especially in winter your chances of getting your bike up and ready quickly are very good, therefore we recommend to have us do your yearly
bicycle maintenance in winter.
Frequently asked questions regarding our bicycle repair service
Do I need an appointment for a bicycle repair or maintenance service? Not necessarily, but especially in spring it doesn't hurt to call to
check whether we have enough space in our workshop to accept your bike.
Do I get notified once my bike is ready? Yes, we send you an SMS as soon as your bike is ready for pickup. Please note: please collect your
bicycle once you receive our notice, so that we have enough floorspace to accept other bikes.
What does a bicycle service cost? We do not have a unit price for a service, but charge actual repair times spent and parts used instead, as
each older bike is unique. Also our customers' requirements vary: eg. some customers want their lights to be fixed, others don't. When accepting
your bike for repair or service we will give you an estimate of the costs. If the actual job turns out to be more expensive than estimated, we
will contact you by phone to get your OK before continuing.
What is included in a bicycle service? We check and tighten all major screwed and clamped connections (saddle, handle bars, brakes, wheels,
pedals, etc.), we make sure your gears and brakes are OK, and adjust bearing play in your wheels and fork. We center your wheels and check/lubricate
your chain. Air pressure in your tires is checked. If you want, we will repair your light. Finally we will take your bike for a test round for a
final check.
How much do you charge for changing a tube? When the wheel can be easily removed, we charge about €20 including a new tube. When there is
more work involved (eg. in the case of a rear wheel with a closed chainguard, hubgear, hub brakes, etc.) the price will be accordingly higher.
How much do you charge for a new tire? We mainly sell Schwalbe Marathon Plus "flatless" tires. These cost a hefty €44 per piece, but we
absolutely recommend them, as with these tires you virtually eliminate the risk of running a flat tire.
Our tip for limiting your repair/service costs: to reduce the time we spend with your bike, and thus reduce your service invoice,
clean your bike before you bring it! Of course we are happy to clean your bike too, but will charge you for our time.
